BEAUVALLON-SUR-MER

Grimaud

The Renaissance of a Riviera Icon

In spring 2026, Dorothée Delaye reawakens the mythic soul of Beauvallon-sur-Mer—alongside the Yannick Alléno Group and the Como Group—through a bold and vibrant reinterpretation balancing Belle Époque heritage with modernist audacity.

A tribute to the golden age of the French Riviera in the 1950s, projected into a timeless and contemporary elegance.

At the forefront of a refined and narrative-driven approach, the interior designer asserts her signature through a dialogue between reimagined heritage and sculptural design, cultivating the art of contrast and solar elegance.

The Balance of Eras: The Concept

The project stems from a clear ambition: to restore Beauvallon-sur-Mer to its former grandeur by striking a balance between its architectural heritage and a contemporary vision.

Dorothée Delaye envisioned a meeting between two stylistic languages: the majesty of the Belle Époque and the purity of modernist architecture. This creative tension anchors the project in its history while projecting it into a renewed, contemporary elegance.

“I like to blend history, instinct and restraint, to bring spaces and objects to life.”

A Solar and Graphic Immersion

The décor draws inspiration from the carefree elegance of the 1950s. The chromatic palette and material choices celebrate the Mediterranean art of living through a graphic and sensory lens:

  • Revisited wrought iron
Dorothée Delaye breathes new life into wrought iron, an emblematic element of Riviera architecture. Here, it is reinterpreted through refined lines and modernist curves, balancing the strength of metal with an almost airy lightness.
  • A nautical echo in the tables
In reference to the iconic Riva boats gliding across the bay of Saint-Tropez, the restaurant tables feature noble wood and intricate marquetry. This subtle nod introduces warmth and timeless elegance, evoking the Riviera’s refined lifestyle.
  • The art of detail and textiles
Vibrant solar yellows and the signature Riviera stripes take over large scalloped parasols. Textiles, with geometric motifs and azure jacquard weaves, bring depth and texture, enhancing the sophisticated comfort of the seaside setting.

Spaces as Living Compositions

From the monumental rotunda to the terraces bordering the pool, each space is conceived as a composition:

  • The rotunda
A central architectural pivot, hosting low seating areas in soft tones, sheltered by streamlined columns that filter the Mediterranean light.
  • The restaurant terrace
Beneath a warm wooden structure, curved furniture meets marquetry tables, creating an atmosphere that is both intimate and open to the horizon.
  • The poolside
A precise alignment of graphic sun loungers highlights the modernist geometry of the pool while preserving the picturesque charm of the surrounding pine grove.

By reinterpreting classical codes through a contemporary lens, Dorothée Delaye does more than renovate; she anchors Beauvallon-sur-Mer in its history while projecting it into a new era of elegance.

“It is, above all, a universe of stories. I always begin with a place, an anchor, a light. I like to contextualise each project, to give it a soul. It is not a dogmatic approach: I embrace contrasts, unexpected correspondences, and bespoke atmospheres. I set no limits, as long as the whole remains sincere and vibrant.”
