In the 20s and 30s, Patout, who helped design the transatlantic liner Normandie, was a benchmark for the \u201cocean liner\u201d and maritime style, and rounded out Paris with buildings featuring wildly Art Deco lines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Long a boarding house, the H\u00f4tel Mercedes, named after the first owner’s daughter, was built in 1928. Seven floors, a pastel-pink, lightly powdered fa\u00e7ade, an air of Miami in the heart of Paris and a vintage bar in the basement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
